Position Purpose

The Project coordinator main function is to assist in and coordinate projects within the facility related to product development, engineering and the manufacturing processes. 

Key Accountabilities

To assist and coordinate projects from onset to launch.

Responsibilities

  • Book all new product development,engineering, and process improvement meetings and issue meeting minutes
  • Coordinate new product developmental work from conceptual stages through to launch
  • A signifcant resource in enhacing our current processes and ensuring projects run more efficienctly
  • Conducts line audits during New Product Plant trials to ensure all proper documents completed
  • Effectively communicate and influence all parties involved in New Prodict Development to deliver on commitments to provide a successful new product launch
  • Lead daily and weekly continuous improvement and management meetings to discuss ongoing issues and develop a systematic plan to measure, identify, improve and coordinate issues
  • Work with multi-functional operations teams and business leaders to develop, execute and complete selected improvement projects
  • Demonstrates problem solving, leadership, conflict management and team building
  • Train other team members on performance improvement methodology during project execution
  • Collaborate with other managers, supervisors, lead hands and other stakeholders in the organization to share best practices and to maximuze understanding and improvements
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Primarily in contact with:
    • Sr Bakery Manager – Bakery/Technicial
    • Building Managers/Supervisors
    • Health and Safety Manager
    • Service Department Managers/Supervisors
    • Quality Assurance Manager
  • Adhere to GMPs and Health and Safety rules as outlined in employee handbook
    • Keep work area clean and clear of hazards
    • Report any unsafe conditions, incidents or injuries to supervisor immediately
    • Use all prescribed personal protective equipment
  • Ensure GMP’s and safe food handling practices are being followed
    • Monitor and enforce GMP compliance by all operators
    • Ensure all work areas are clean and organized and free of spills, water, wood, and debris
    • Complete incident reports for all FM/GMP incidents
    • Follow up with Health, Safety & Security Manager any reports of unusual people or behaviours
  • Perform other duties as required

 

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Analytical reasoning, interprets and evaluates complex information, while identifying patterns and essential issues
  • Knowledge and experience with leading and coordinating projects
  • High standards of integrity, energy level, and self-motivation
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams
  • Proficient computer skills in MS Office, a statistical program (Minitab), and or/a database would be an asset
  • Ability to demonstrate values consistent behaviour
  • Ability and motivation to learn and try new things and new ways of improving
  • Good communication and presentation skills and ability to coach others and be a change agent
  • Pride in the Company and its products
  • Technical competence in processs control and baking skills is an asset
  • Must demonstrate sense of urgency, performance oriented, honesty and integrity

 

Education, Technical Qualifications, Experience and Competencies Proficiency Level

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred

  • Project Management courses are an asset

  • This is a 24 hour/ 7 day manufacturing operation
