ARYZTA Brantford’s Summer Student Program provides opportunities for summer employment for qualified students to finance the furthering of their education while allowing the company to support summer vacation coverage and evolving business needs. 

 

Summer Students must meet the following requirements:

  • Actively pursuing a formal education and returning to school as full-time student in the fall semester
  • Enrolled in a full time course of study, leading towards a recognized college diploma or university degree
  • Ability to work 12 hour continental shift rotation
  • Available to work the entire summer work term from May to end of August

Position Purpose

Assist with conducting food safety and quality assurance procedures to ensure ARYZTA is in compliance with best practices for food safety and quality.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • This position will assist in the evaluation of finished foods and project work as assisigned.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in sampling, testing, and documentation of the Quality Management System
  • Reports food safety and quality issues to their supervisor or on shift Tech 3, FSQA
  • May participate in physical bakery inspection
  • Collects samples for analysis from production for evaluation
  • Ensures appropriate communication of food safety/QA issues with Tech 3, FSQAs at shift change
  • Conduct raw material analysis
  • Complete ATP swabbing
  • Complete required paperwork for shift
  • Participate in sensory evaluations
  • Non-compliance reporting
  • Communicating quality and compliance issues to operators and supervisors
  • Verification of on-line operator checks and procedures pertaining to quality
  • Maintain the required hygiene, safety and quality standards on the production floor
  • Other duties including project work may be assigned

 

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Effective work ethic and good communications skills
  • High School Diploma, some college science courses or experience in the food industry preferred
  • Training in HACCP (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points) preferred
  • Good writing, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Detail oriented, and possess strong computer skills

  • Regularly required to climb, stand or walk for extended periods of time
  • Use a computer keyboard and monitor more than 25% of total work time
  • The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 50lbs
  • Food and ingredient tasting or sampling is required. For people with food sensitivities or allergies, this facility uses the following allergens in food production:
    • Wheat
    • Egg
    • Tree nuts
    • Soybean
    • Milk
    • Sulphites
