Position Purpose

Responsible for all aspects of departmental performance including safety, quality, reliability, efficiency, customer service, cost, employee performance, training and development.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Supervise a team of logistics operators and support staff in a high quality warehousing environment
  • Ensure that all finished goods are accurately recorded in the company’s Warehouse Management and ERP Systems

 

Responsibilities

  • Evaluation of “put-away strategies” for the finished goods warehouse
  • Control and utilization of resources to ensure that all Shipping/Receiving and Housekeeping tasks are completed effectively
  • Close inter-departmental liaison with Production, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Human Resources and Finance teams, providing accurate information when requested
  • Track Operator activity including payroll, vacation schedules, overtime, absenteeism, etc.
  • Conduct Risk Assessments to ensure safe working conditions for employees
  • Conduct Operator training to reflect company policy
  • Schedule and conduct performance reviews for Logistics Leads, Logistics Supervisors and Operators
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures as required
  • Prepare analysis and reports for the Logistics Management team
  • Maintenance of the warehouse racking systems, damage / in-operable sleds
  • Managing the fork lift truck fleet and associated battery equipment
  • Canceling/amending raw material deliveries out of hours as required

 

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

 

  • Trained in Health and Safety due diligence
  • Microsoft office and related PC skills to operate WMS
  • Interpersonal skills to maintain a positive employee relations climate

 

Education, Technical Qualifications, Experience and Competencies Proficiency Level

Required

  • Minimum of 5-7 years relevant experience in managing and leading people and processes in a continuous process warehouse environment, supporting a continuous process manufacturing environment

Preferred

  • Post-secondary education preferred
  • Experience in warehouse procedures with a cold store experience would be an advantage
