Position Purpose

To ensure inventory accuracy (raw materials, packaging, and finished goods)

 

Key Accountabilities

Provide analytical reports, and effectively control and maintain inventory accuracy in the bakery and external storage sites where Burnaby inventory resides.

 

Responsibilities

  • Reconcile inventory for outside storage locations
  • Daily counts are performed on critical items
  • Schedule, clear and post cycle counts of finished goods, raw materials and packaging 
  • Inventory discrepancies and scanning errors are investigated and are reported to the Warehouse Team Leader
  • Daily collaboration with Production Clerk to support timely clearing of COGI errors
  • Daily verification of the empty bin report
  • Daily communication of physical variances with the Warehouse and purchasing teams to achieve appropriate inventory levels
  • Work closely with QA team to maintain inventory with quality and expiry issues
  • Required to assist in troubleshooting Receiving and Warehouse transactions
  • Effectively manage operational departmental resources (material handling equipment, scanners, pallets, etc)
  • Submit repairs for handheld and truck mounted RF computers
  • Create purchase orders for forklift repairs and pallet orders
  • Improve, control and maintain inventory accuracy (WIP, raw materials, packaging and finished goods)
  • Analyze and resolve inventory variances
  • Request counts for inventory discrepancies
  • Reconcile production, bulk and  IM locations and post in SAP
  • Issue weekly/period end reports on inventory variances to finance, production and purchasing for finished goods, raw materials and packaging.
  • Review, update and implement processes related to inventory
  • Maintain and resolve issues within the WMS / SAP system
  • Keep in contact with QA for anything needed – early release/hold products/found pallets, to prevent obsolescence
  • Take on additional responsibilities as directed
  • Support continuous improvement
  • Adhere to all applicable job procedures as outlined in SOP manual
  • Adhere to GMPs and Health and Safety rules as outlined in employee handbook
    • Keep work area clean and clear of hazards
    • Report any unsafe conditions, incidents or injuries to supervisor immediately
    • Use all prescribed personal protective equipment
  • Ensure GMP’s and safe food handling practices are being followed
    • All tools to be cleaned and maintained in good repair. Report any broken, damaged, or missing tools to your supervisor. Do not discard any damaged or broken tools.
    • Follow all GMPs including maintaining personal hygiene, hand washing/sanitizing hands, clean up spills (i.e., ingredients, water, debris and wood)
    • Report any foreign material findings to your supervisor
    • Report all ceiling leaks to your supervisor
    • As part of food security, report any unusual people or behavior to your supervisor
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Inventory Analysis experience
  • Strong computer skills (i.e. MS applications, Email, etc)
  • Function independently in performing daily responsibilities
  • SAP Knowledge

  • ARYZTA Limited is a 24 hour/ 7 day manufacturing operation
  • The temperature of the environment within the production area can range from 58 -80 degrees farenheit depending on the department 
  • Frozen Warehouse may have temperatures reaching 10.4 farenheit
  • The production areas are often loud, exceeding 85 decibels, due to the machinery that is running; earplugs are required to be worn while in the bakery at all times
  • Depending on postion, some employees may be exposed to dust; dust masks and

respirators are available if required
