REPORTS TO:             

Production Supervisor and/or designate.



The ability to work with employees using good interpersonal communication and organisational skills. Knowledge of standard operating procedures and product standards. To ensure the proper, safe and efficient operation of their areas. To utilize resources and equipment, in the most effective manner based on the production schedule. Follow the instructions of the Supervisor and/or designate. 




  • Observe and maintain product quality and food safety standards.
  • Understand and observe safety and WCB regulations.
  • Work in accordance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
  • Be familiar with all facets of equipment operation on production lines.
  • Understanding and ability to meet production timelines.
  • Understanding of production processing standards : dough’s per shift,  minutes per dough, pan per dough yield, pieces /liner, target dough to filling ratio,  unit weight range.
  • Understanding of packing standards: best before, product code, labelling information, pieces per case, case yield per dough, net and gross case weight and cases per pallet.
  • Trouble shoot and solve equipment and production line problems.
  • Identify and control line waste such as “trim” and any other form of waste.
  • Co ordinate and cross train functions with other lines and help train new employees.
  • Understanding of union contract; ability to motivate and work with others and be a role model
  • Train and mentor new and transferred employees.
  • Move skids with a pallet jack (non electrical).
  • Perform to ensure that established line speeds are met.
  • Other duties as required.


  • Ability to speak, read and write basic English required.
  • Possess basic math skills.
  • Must be able to understand scheduling process which is based on a number of criteria.
  • Able to problem solve.
  • Maintain high quality production standards.
  • Basic understanding of equipment and line related functions.
  • Awareness of product standards and specifications an asset; i.e. weight, temperature, tone and consistency, code date system etc.
  • Ability to work in a variety of environment temperatures: heat from ovens and cold from freezers.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
  • Must be able to do repetitive labour intensive and physically demanding work: lifting, bending.
  • Must be willing and able to job rotation.
  • Must be willing and able to work a variety of shifts.
  • Must be willing to work on all processing lines.
  • Must be able to work on packaging lines when required for relief.
  • Willing and able to be cross trained.
  • Adhere to the collective agreement.
  • Must have reasonable means of transportation to accommodate location and shift requirements
