As a key member of ARYZTA’s North America leadership team and corporate finance leadership team, the Chief Financial Officer will report to the North America CEO, with dotted reporting to ARYZTA’s Group CFO, delivering strong financial management and leadership. The CFO functions as the lead financial executive for this $1.5 billion business with responsibility for all financial operations for the region including financial planning & analysis, business decision support, accounting & reporting, controls, IT, procurement, and supply chain.

 

The CFO serves as the leader for a team that holds itself to the highest of standards around business partnership, and plays a critical role in driving success in achieving the long-term business plan and goals of the organization. The CFO is involved with integrating future acquisitions, investments, and engaging in the acceleration of earnings growth through strong business analysis, understanding, and support.  This executive is responsible for leading a team of approximately 220 employees with 8 direct reports, with a strong focus on business transformation and talent development.  In this role, influence and stakeholder engagement with the business and key functional areas are critical. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy, Planning and Management

  • Assess and evaluate financial performance of North American business regarding long-term operational goals, budgets, and forecasts
  • Provide insight and recommendations to both short-term and long-term growth plans
  • Communicate, engage, and interact with CEO and Executive Leadership Team
  • Establish yearly financial objectives that align with the company’s growth and expansion plans
  • Participate in pivotal decisions as they relate to strategic initiatives and operational models
  • Implement policies, procedures and processes as deemed appropriate by senior leadership team

 

Financial Analysis, Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Prepare and present monthly financial budgeting reports including monthly profit and loss, forecast vs. budget, and weekly cash flow
  • Review and analyze monthly financial results and provide recommendations
  • Identify, develop and execute analysis of business initiatives
  • Develop and maintain monthly operating budget and annual company operating budget
  • Manage financial planning and analysis department. Supervise creation of reports, software implementation and tools for budgeting and forecasting

 

Financial Management

  • Manage cash flow planning process and ensure availability of funds
  • Oversee cash, investments, and asset management area
  • Explore new investment opportunities and provide recommendations on potential risks/returns
  • Maintain outstanding banking relationships and strategic alliances with vendors and partners
  • Utilize forward-looking models and activity-based analyses to provide financial insight into the organization’s plans and operating budgets
  • Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and IFRS and regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A minimum education level of: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related area in combination with a CPA; or an MBA Degree (Finance Focus) required
  • 10+ years’ progressive responsibility in financial leadership roles, preferably in food manufacturing or consumer packaged goods
  • Strong technical skills with thorough knowledge of GAAP and IFRS
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and with staff at remote locations essential
  • Significant experience with problem solving and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
  • Demonstrates a high level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation in an often-changing environment
  • Experience in an acquisitive company driving future organic growth an advantage
  • Experience in SAP
