Key Accountabilities

The Director, Customer Development - Retail will be an ambassador and enthusiast for La Brea Bakery and Otis Spunkmeyer brands as well as all ARYZTA categories.

The Director is responsible for ensuring we deliver against key revenue targets and execution strategies; maintaining brand guardrails, protecting and growing our business, as well as training/telling the story to both customers and consumers.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage key accounts to achieve volume goals through new placements, positioning, merchandising and promotion.
  • Serve as expert on assigned customers, understanding the customer’s corporate strategy, and how to align ARYZTA with the customer’s strategy.
  • Collaborate with Brand Management team to develop and implement plan to meet and exceed annual budget.
  • Communicate with existing ARYZTA customer development to make sure we are cohesive and aligned to ARYZTA’s overall strategic direction.
  • Lead & participate in presentations, negotiations, sales meetings, and trade shows with key external & internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction stays high, develop lasting relationships with existing customers, and create new relationships.
  • Provide thought leadership in driving distribution growth on current foods and new launches.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • 5-7 years min. of retail sales experience in a senior sales role, on a national/international basis.
  • College/University degree required.
  • Food experience strongly preferred
  • Passion for food with experience and an understanding of food trends and flavor profiles
  • Demonstrated relationships and ability in customer management within specific territory
  • Strong track-record of proven success in developing branded consumer packaged goods.
  • ISB, Bakery, deli, center-aisle or other retail experience preferred
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, presentation, negotiation, & relationship building abilities.
  • Strategic, resourceful, & creative individual who is a proven hands-on sales leader that thrives in a team environment.
  • Flexible personality and able to regularly transition between high-level, strategic work and detailed, tactical work.
  • Must be able to drive a car and travel via plane/train, lift up to 45lbs
  • Frequent travel within assigned area of business
  • Primarily office environment but may be exposed to a warehouse/distribution environment on a frequent basis
