Key Accountabilities

This role manages the organizational risk agenda for Aryzta North America, including worker’s compensation, insurance, and claims.  The successful candidate will possess strong accounting and finance knowledge and a commitment to ensure the organization’s risk agenda is advanced in the context of the broader Group agenda. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Leads the identification, communication, measurement, and management of company-wide business risk.
  • Manages insurance procurement, develops and implements risk management and compliance policies and manages claims and litigation.
  • Manages and maintains control over the claims process to assure that claims are being settled fairly, consistently, and in the best interest of the organization.  This involves working closely with internal General Counsel, Procurement, Finance, Operations and other areas of the business.
  • Manages relationships with third party service providers including brokers, underwriters, and other third-party administrators.
  • Evaluates and provides recommendations regarding selection of policies, including but not limited to: Property, Casualty, General Liability, Workers’ Compensation and Directors and Officers.
  • Coordinates and submits, as necessary, the gathering of insurance policy renewal data.
  • Partners with all departments regarding incident reports and claims or losses.
  • Investigates, resolves, and files to all liability claims and provides timely notification of claims to insurance carriers.
  • Works with the company’s insurance brokers to respond to requests for certificates of insurance and claims history document.
  • Identifies potential risk exposures, recommends solutions, implements approved programs, promotes loss prevention, and updates and monitors compliance.
  • Leads the workers’ compensation and incident reporting program and processes.

 

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related fields such as business, risk management or economics. Master’s degree in Finance or MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years relevant experience, preferably with a CPG/Food company
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with different personalities, as well as the ability to manage a team
  • Confident and articulate, with a willingness to contribute new ideas and solutions
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills coupled with the ability to make business decisions in situations where there is either too much or not enough data
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work well cross-functionally 
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
