Major Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Conduct day-to-day trade compliance and import-export activities to ensure international shipments are in compliance including: full shipping documentation, Harmonized System Code (HS) classification, valuation, Incoterms, Country of Origin, and FTA’s (including but not limited to USMCA, AUSFTA etc.)
  • Serve as primary contact for Freight Forwarders, Customs Brokers and International Distributors while closely managing those relationships with the entire 3PL network
  • Ensure smooth and timely movement of Aryzta North America’s international orders by coordinating internally with Aryzta partners and 3PL service providers
  • Manage the tracking/tracing and clearance of cross-border inbound and outbound shipments between U.S. and Canada containing finished goods, WIP, and/or raw materials
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures and/or Service Level Agreements for all Aryzta U.S. exporting bakeries to Canada, LATAM, the Middle East, East Asia, and the APAC
  • Support US bakeries with the creation/audit/accuracy/revision of export documentation
  • Support Customer Development with requests for duty & other cost requests for new food pricing, as well as exports to other international markets when needed
  • Assist in the amendment of entries where appropriate with customs brokerage
  • Communicate and coordinate closely with Inventory Control/Warehousing and Transportation Management Teams on reviews, holds, and releases
  • Stay apprised of changing regulatory requirements and disseminate information to staff and other appropriate team members by maintaining current HTS codes, COO, valuation etc.
  • Collaborate with management teams within Production, Food Safety, Quality Assurance, Legal, and Regulatory to build strategic plans
  • Ensure compliance at all times to regulations and support in government agency audit (if required)
  • Additional duties supporting Transportation as time/scope permits.


Required Qualifications

  • 5 years of related trade experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of managing Freight Forwarding, Customs Brokerage, and Cross-Border operations
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word, SAP with experience in Transportation Management Systems
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, and communicate concisely to obtain positive results under limited supervision
  • Pro-active and excellent organizational skills
  • A desire to learn, service oriented, initiative, and works with a sense of urgency and constant innovation
