We have a fantastic opportunity to join the ARYZTA Ireland Product & Innovation team!

Purpose of the Role:

As Technical Bakery Development Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the test bakery and its day-to-day activities as well as ensuring it future proofed in terms of providing the resources to define the businesses concept pipeline.  This will be completed in partnership with the customer facing development team. Management and on-going development of the test baker will ensure that the day to day need for sampling is meet as well as providing a knowledge hub for all based on your understanding of bakery fundamentals. There is a need to develop strong supplier relationships and look for newness within the current base or by evaluation of potential new suppliers to deliver first to market opportunities. Transfer of products from test bakery to manufacturing is key to this role and therefore a team player that can build trust with our operations function is a must. Systems / Process and CI are key aspects of this role so knowledge of introduction of new WoW, implementation of new improved process etc would be a key advantage. 

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

• Management of the test bakery and test baker and the workload associated. 
• Supporting the development team with concept development 
• Ensuring all projects are managed to meet customer expectations ensuring all product requirements are meet. 
• Lead training to ensure bakery team have the right bakery knowledge to support their day-to-day roles (workshops etc).
• Clear and concise recipe management and reporting of trials to support the business Stage and Gate Process and associated external accreditation (i.e., BRC)
• Maintain and development cross functional working with the supplier base to support 1st to market opportunities and meet the market needs. 
• Ensure that quality standards defined as part of test bakery are delivered on going in manufacturing. 
• Manage CI projects through the test bakery in to manufacturing.

Experience

Key requirements:

• A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a product development role within an FMCG organisation 
• Bread Bakery hands on experience in high volume bakery in parallel with a clear understanding of artisan and sourdough production 
• Extensive knowledge of test bakery to line hand over 
• Commercially savvy 
• Team player 
• Aware of market trends and competitive set 
• High level of detail with good communication skills
• Works at pace 
• Strong leader with passion for mentoring

Other Requirements:

• Regular travel required to customer and supplier sites (Mainly UK)
• Availability to work flexible hours as needed
