Overall Purpose of the Role:
Reporting to the Head of NPD BIFG.
The NPD Project Co-Ordinator UK & IRL will play a key role in supporting the development and launching of new or upgraded product concepts, coordinating projects and concepts through the development process, with the guidance and direction of a Product Manager.
In this varied role you will build relationships with internal stakeholders. You will support the product relationship with both customers & suppliers, be part of a team that ensures that the ISB offer is relevant and future proofed, providing an offer that resonates with the consumer. You will also play a part within the development of an extensive savoury range. Channels of activity include both Retail & Foodservice, with multiple sub channels catered for. This role is an opportunity to join a food business with over 450 products and several ranges with a diverse customer base and requirement. The role is a chance to come from the hospitality sector into a large scale manufacturing and distribution business that supplies great product within Ireland and the UK.
Main Duties & Responsibilities include:
New Product Development:
- Carry out trade visits compile the findings and be aware of the competitor landscape and emerging trends.
- Support work streams to gather insights & category data to identify opportunities within the customer base and support category reviews.
- Gather new product listing information in line with the NPD process.
- Support supplier & customer relationships by arrangement of samples required documentation etc.
- Ensure that superior quality testing plus product benchmarking and new product panels are being carried out both internally & externally (with customers) across all our categories to include BIFG and Bakeries.
- Support in the management of the NPD pipe line .
- Gathering of information to review existing product portfolio
- Preparing setting up and presenting ranges/ concepts to customers both internal and inclusive of external tradeshows.
- Maintaining all required documentation & records in line with BRC accredited standards.
- Support the creation of video content, written content, product slides, customer product information guides, recipe ideas, build guides, food styling on shoots.
- Setup the Learning and Innovation Hub to support internal training to business developers, account managers, telesales.
- Support all new product development and innovation activity, for ARYZTA Food Solutions - trends, benchmarking, product set up etc
- Support product presentations and capabilities presentations and ensuring launches are a success measured by pre-launch quality reviews.
- Run weekly quality session and prep all samples and next step follow up
- Co-ordinate the Product Superiority testing focus of Aryzta Ireland and UK program across both Manufactured and Food Solutions and own any pre and post launch testing requirements.
Innovation & Market Awareness:
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the food retail & foodservice market, via trade press, food magazines & competitor shopping, to ensure development of cutting edge & market leading products.
Customer Skills
- Develop relationships with customers and support there sample submission requirements as required.
- Be part of the team that presents NPD & upgrades to the customer in a professional manner, demonstrating your food knowledge & expertise. Preparing samples, presentation packs & any theatre required.
Other:
- Support the NPD managers projects as required.
- Ensure a close working relationship with the Commercial, Finance ,Quality ,Marketing teams.
- Setup internal & external taste panels when required.
- Attend weekly NPD meetings.
- Conduct store visits on a regular basis.
- Manage the Learning and Innovation Hub
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Experience within the food sector or in a Project Co-Ordinator role.
- Have a good understanding of food and food categories.
- Be well organized in a fast moving busy environment.
- Ability to Bake and cook product as required, culinary arts degree and advantage.
- Great interpersonal skills and a willing to make a difference in the world of food.
- Drive & impetus to go out & seek new ideas.
- Able to work both as an individual & a team player.
- Need to be creative and have a thirst for knowledge.
- Not frightened to challenge the “norm “to support continuous improvements.
- Ability to create a favourable first impression, project yourself well and present with confidence.
- Have an outgoing & confident approach.
- MS Office working knowledge (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
