Payroll Specialist

Overall Purpose of the Role:

The Payroll Specialist, reporting into the Payroll Manager, is responsible for end to end processing of UK & Irish payrolls on a fortnightly & Monthly basis.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Ensuring that all payroll amendments are processed and calculated accurately and within strict deadlines.
  • Responsible for the collection of payroll information and timesheets ensuring the correct approval process has been adhered to.
  • Calculation of PAYE, PRSI, USC, Pensions and all other statutory/voluntary deductions.
  • Dealing with payroll related queries
  • Working closely with the HR Function in relation to employee information.
  • Compilation and posting of payroll journals. Maintaining monthly payroll related reconciliations.
  • General administration and Other Ad hoc duties / Projects as required.


Essential Criteria:


  • Minimum 2+ years’  experience in a similar role
  • Self-starter with the ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to take ownership of role and perform to a high standard within strict deadlines
  • Exemplary attention to detail
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Strong Communication & Interpersonal Skills
  • Focused & Organised


Desirable Criteria :


  • IPASS qualification not essential but is preferred.
  • Previous experience in Megapay is an advantage but not essential
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel
