Reporting to the Head of Quality, the Specification Technologist represents a key role within the ARYZTA business and an ideal opportunity for the right candidate to further develop their career within the food industry.

Principle duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Maintenance of GRS Database with current product specifications
  • Approval of product labels against product specifications as required
  • Direct communication with all suppliers in relation to completion and accuracy of product technical specification
  • Completion / Approval of customer specs as requested i.e. retailer specs
  • Control & maintenance of automated specification system mainly in relation to keeping specs updated < 3 years old with suppliers on GRS database
  • Ensure product information meets with legislative requirements and internal policy 
  • Compilation of information for technical KPI reports
  • Compilation of weekly supplier specification report
  • Input of technical information for supplier review meetings
  • Direct communication with Technical Officer regarding any issues with GRS database / completion of required GRS specs/ sign off for launch of new products
  • Completion of internal audit as per internal schedules
  • Compilation of complaints trending   
  • HACCP listing review and testing document
  • Support with internal audit completion, analysis of trends  


Skills & Qualifications Required:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a food related discipline
  • Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Office programmes 
  • Self-motivated with good attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Qualification in a food related discipline will be highly regarded
  • Audit training and experience will be an advantage as well as previous experience in Hamilton Grant database.
