VP, Bakery Operation North America


Reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer, the Vice President, Operations oversees all aspects of operations through ARYZTA’s North America infrastructure of bakery locations.  This position is ideal for a highly motivated, efficient leader with a bias for action, and a reputation for driving successful change and assessing and building strong teams. Someone who cultivates relationships within the organization and enables a foundation for growth. The VP is an agile leader, adapting processes and products for optimal efficiency across ARYZTA’s North America bakeries. An executive who will not be afraid to make unpopular decisions regarding the current and future footprint of the business, and will lead through the power of ideas, using facts and strong communication skills to help lead operations.



  • Implement a strong Sales to Operations workflow, based on defining and delivering business expectations while operating in line with customer contractual obligations
  • Work closely with other ARYZTA functional areas including Supply Chain, Finance, Strategy, Customer Service, Sustainability, and Human Resources to provide a seamless experience for customers and employees
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement plans for operational infrastructure of systems, policies, process, and staff
  • Work with business leaders to interpret and analyze operations data and metrics in order to make informed and strategic financial and operational decisions
  • Works collaboratively across a complex organization and can scale leadership to work effectively with senior management and line-level employees
  • Develops and leads a continuous improvement culture focused on activities to include safety, cost/efficiency and employee engagement
  • Work with senior leadership to identify opportunities to reduce product costs, enhance margins and improve production efficiencies
  • Develop and manage annual manufacturing facility budgets across the North America region
  • Responsible for monitoring performance against strategic goals and objectives
  • Provide direct reports with leadership, direction, and coaching to achieve work objectives and improve performance and skills
  • Provide on-site review and guidance regarding manufacturing practices, equipment and facilities, and people resourcing
  • Use best in class practices to set and maintain highest standards of quality and efficiencies
  • Develops new insights into solutions that result in organizational improvements
  • Promotes a work environment that fosters creative thinking and innovation

Required Skills and Experience:


  • Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering 
  • Prior bakery experience is strongly preferred
  • Minimum 15 years of leadership experience in a global, networked, lean manufacturing environment of a top company with world class manufacturing capabilities 
  • Ten plus years of experience running a network of manufacturing facilities
  • Experience in the procurement and build out of manufacturing facilities from Green Field sites
  • Multi-facility leadership experience in a food and/or beverage is required, consumer products company 
  • Experience driving continuous improvement in an end-to-end supply chain organization
  • Experience developing and managing preventative maintenance programs
