Title: Environmental Health Safety & Security Analyst



To ensure that regulatory requirements for Safety, Security, Environment and Workers Compensation are met/ exceeded.  To continually reduce risk and cost associated with behaviors and conditions of employees, contractors and visitors of Aryzta.


Position Purpose

Champion the effort to ensure EHS compliance, build a strong safety culture and in the process reduce injuries


Scope/Complexity/Supervisory Responsibilities

Receives assignments from manager and determines how to use resources to complete tasks and as a result meet objectives and goals. Provides guidance to Bakery Management to achieve goals in accordance with established company policies. Recommends and implements changes to safety and health program that affect the bakery

Champion the current EHS Program to create an injury-free environment and maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements.

  • Champion safety culture with zero accident mentality
  • Actively co-manage with HR and managers the return to work program and associated workers compensation claims for work related injured temporary and full-time Aryzta employees. 
  • Maintain and manage the EHS programs, policies and procedures that comply with legal and Aryzta corporate policies and guidelines.
  • Develop a strong relationship with EEs and facilitate employee-led behavior-based safety process in a team based environment.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, identify and evaluate hazards in the workplace and recommend solutions to minimize or eliminate risk. To include working indirectly in the manufacturing environment with 30-50% of time dedicated to “floor time” in the facility.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in all areas of safety.
  • Conduct research for the purpose of identifying, abating or eliminating sources of hazards as it relates to employee safety and the environment




Lead accident investigations and maintain all OSHA reporting.

  • Support all accident and near miss investigations to uncover root cause and track completion of corrective actions.
  • Track, analyze and report safety performance result
  • Follow through with respective department managers and employees on all safety-related suggestions and feedback

Education, Technical Qualifications, Experience and Competencies Proficiency Level


  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum of 2 years safety experience in a manufacturing environment preferably food industry
  • Use a computer more than 25% of total work time.
  • Ability to communicate (written and oral) in Spanish and English



B.S. in Occupational Safety or related discipline

  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is subject to a warehouse and walk-in freezer environment where temperatures can vary from extreme cold to very warm.
  • The noise level in the work environment is often moderate to loud.
