Job Title

Key Accountabilities

Operates a stand-up forklift to safely transport ingredients, materials, and equipment to the correct destination. Forklift drivers are a fundamental part of warehouse and production operations. 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overseeing shift warehouse staff to ensure daily tasks are completed correctly.
  • Uses stand-up forklift to transport materials to and from trucks, shipping & receiving docks, and various stock and storage locations.
  • Works closely with Warehouse Supervisor regarding performance management of department personnel, and any other issues.  Provides translation as needed.
  • Verifies supplies and equipment in stock against what is documented prior to movement of material.
  • Oversees verification of lot code numbers, product type, and quantity of each load moved on their shift using scanning guns.
  • Keeps stock tracking records and other simple records of quantities of items moved, storage locations, and daily records of work performed.
  • Moves trailers in/out of loading area for outbound/inbound loads
  • Moves stock, pallets, and other items manually as required
  • Creates work schedules following Company standards.
  • Is primary back-up to Warehouse Supervisor in his absence.
  • Follows rules and regulations to ensure food safety, quality, and legality.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships.
  • Needs to work closely with production supervisors and leads for specific needs for daily production.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Bilingual English/Spanish, Elementary level literacy
  • 1-2 Years Stand Up forklift experience, preferred
  • In-house Forklift Certification, HACCP & GMP training (in-house)

This position requires employee to have adequate communicating and observational skills, including seeing, speaking and hearing, due to the operation of various types of moving equipment used in the bakery.  These requirements are for the safety of the employee and co-workers.  These requirements are also necessary for collecting and distributing information to staff, and communicating with co-workers.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and color vision.
