Key Accountabilities

The Operations Analyst, Bakery is responsible for bakery performance improvement, production reporting, analyzing performance, and identifying opportunity to drive results within the bakery.  The Operations Analyst, Bakery will be a developmental role focused on process improvement, driving results, and leadership development.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute towards the achievement of company's strategic and operational objectives.
  • Direct and coordinate activities around performance, quality controls, and KPI monitoring.
  • Chalking out or improving operational systems, processes and best practices that guarantee organizational well-being.
  • Complete production process order reporting including labor and downtime.
  • Monitor, manage, and maintain standard operating procedures and operation product specifications.
  • Analyze production trends and inconsistencies and perform RCA (root cause analysis) and develop sustainable solutions in partnership with production leadership.
  • Develop visual aids to support production in creating a sustainable operation.
  • Lead and facilitate Kaizen events and other continuous improvement problem solving events.
  • Compiles and records production data from such documents as production schedule, product specifications, and individual worker production sheets.
  • Manage and maintain log of all major events within production to mitigate risk of a repeat incident.
  • Calculates factors such as types and quantities of items produced, materials used, amount of scrap and worker and department production rates.
  • Writes production reports based on data compiled, tabulated, and computed.
  • Maintains files of documents used and prepared.
  • Charts production, based on statistics compiled, for reference by production and management personnel.
  • Reviews and resolves any SAP issues and reports any discrepancies.
  • Ensures that all SAP reporting is accurate and performed in a timely manner.
  • Ensures that all information received is accurate and filled out completely as required by company policy.  Also follows up on missing information with Supervisor and/or Lead of the area.
  • Places orders for production supplies and controls the production budgets for supplies.
  • Works to maintain and improve on the quality, legality and safety of each product and the processes used in their manufacture.  Responsible for keeping assigned work area clean and tidy at all times and reporting any potential contamination and suspicious activity to a Supervisor immediately.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school

•Three to Five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

•Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, decimals, Bakers percent, area, circumference, density, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

•Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized institutions.

•Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

•Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.  Bilingual English and Spanish preferable.
