Position Purpose

The Quality Assurance Compliance Coordinator will ensure that all documentation related to product safety, legality, and quality systems is maintained in compliance, with government, customer, and third-party requirements.   Maintains records of product quality for regulatory and company use.   Promotes and supports company continuous improvement efforts and initiatives. Ensures that employees adhere to ARYZTA LLC and government regulations with emphasis on safety, sanitation and quality.

 

Key Accountabilities

Oversees AIMS compliance through internal audits and collaboration with all bakery departments. Works independently to verify policies, procecdures, and forms are being utilized and maintained as intended per AIMS. Effective communication is required to gather information confirming compliance along with verifying management teams are following through with corrective actions, as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Review, verify, file and maintain records relating to product safety, legality, and quality systems.
  • Become knowledgeable in the requirements of third-party auditors such as: BRC, FSNS, USDA, Subway, FDA, Department of Agriculture, etc.
  • Ensure compliance to specifications outlined in AIMS and those mandated by customers
  • Conduct audits of procedures used in all areas of the bakery and issuing a completed report with corrective actions to relevant managers and supervisors
  • Maintain schedule calendars to stay on track with internal audits, mock trace exercises, training, and Management Internal GAP Assessments
  • Conduct follow-up with Managers to ensure that corrective actions to deviations are being completed in a timely manner
  • Verify annual review of bakery specific procedures and forms are being completed by bakery management.
  • Assist in the bakery’s training program by coordinating the schedule, maintaining all records and databases
  • Verifies informational paperwork is maintained current based on current raw ingredient and packaging registers.
  • Participate in mock trace exercises to verify compliance with traceability expectations.
  • Verify product formula compliance and Finished Food Specifications between the network drive and R&D
  • Manage and control AIMS document control program
  • To maintain impartiality of the auditing functions of the position, the Compliance Coordinator will be insulated from procedure writing and form creation. The position’s primary function is to observe and report.
  • Overtime hours may be required based on work demand. Off hour work is expected to achieve success in internal audits. Employee must be flexible with these hours.
  • Employee must follow and comply with the bakerys’ GMP, Food Safety and Safety Procedures
  • Clothing and Hygiene must be neat and clean
  • Other duties are required.

   

 

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in the implementation and auditing of BRC standards
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization as well as customers
  • Ability to analyze data and project trends and correlations
  • Must have good command of the English language, both written and verbal
  • Excellent Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Powerpoint skills

 

 

Education, Technical Qualifications, Experience and Competencies Proficiency Level

  • Bachelors degree preferred from an accredited four year institution of higher learning

 

Required

  • Extensive experience in the implementation and auditing of GFSI and/or BRC standards
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization as well as customers
  • Ability to analyze data and project trends and correlations
  • Must have good command of the English language, both written and verbal
