This position is responsible for the safe and efficient maintenance of Bakery equipment. Maintaining open and reliable communication with co-workers on the safety and operating status of all equipment operations.



  • Prepare, test and troubleshoot all production lines prior to start-up in a timely manner
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks and work orders
  • Promote and adhere to safe work practices
  • Carry out duties as specified by Maintenance Manager and Supervisors
  • Timely and accurate completion of all paperwork on repairs and preventative maintenance
  • Repair production equipment in a timely manner, using blueprints and manuals
  • Carry out minor building maintenance and repairs
  • Maintain ongoing communication with other departments, assisting in continuous equipment improvement
  • Problem solve, analyze and identify waste areas and recommend solutions
  • Install new equipment according to layout plans using hand and power tools
  • Carry out equipment modifications to improve product quality and reduce downtime
  • Report any concerns and/or problems to supervisor
  • Ensure all GMP and Safe Food Handling practices are being followed
  • Understand how to read and troubleshoot ladder logic and PLC
  • Able to program and install VFD and VSD
  • Run and install all types of conduit and cable as per Canadian Electrical Code
  • Be able to install new montor control systems using 3 Phase and Single Phase
  • Responsible for upkeep of montor control centers
  • Perform all other duties as assigned


Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment
  • Solid understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code
  • Ability to read and understand all equipment manuals
  • Strong understanding and application of English. Both oral and written communication
  • Must be able to understand the scheduling process, quality training and safety policies and procedures
  • Able to prioritize multiple tasks and adjust to changing priorities quickly
  • Strong organizational skills are essential
  • Good analytical skills - able to find solutions quickly
  • High sense of accoutnability and ownership
  • Post Secondary education in a technical field or trade certification as a certified Construction or Industrial Electrician
  • Proven experience with SAP software
  • Able to perform repeative functions such as reaching, bending, and lifting
  • Capable to stand for extended periods of time
